Fireworks, games, food, and more will be featured at the Town of New Windsor’s Community Day celebration on Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park. Admission and parking are free.
Community day will feature a car giveaway from Healy Kia, zip lining, stunt jump, and helicopter rides ($50). Some events are free, such as carousel, giant swings, arcade games, racing, a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, petting zoo, photo booth, and more.
About 200 vendors, including craft, service, retail, and non-profits vendors will be on hand, as well as more than 25 food vendors and a wine and beer tent.
There will also be music on two stages. Stage one performers include Tim Urban; country and rock band Hillbilly Parade; Groovy Tuesday; Moondance, playing music from classic to country to disco; and party band Breaking Crazy. On the second stage: singer/songwriter Ameliarose Allen; John Reddan; pop, R&B and soul singer Kendyle Paige Woleven; singer/songwriter Ayanna Martine; and classic rock band Big Crumb.
Performances will also be given by Bee Bee the Clown, Magician Kevin Wurster, and Footworks Dance Studio. A pie-eating contest is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Fireworks begin at about 8:30 p.m.
