Goldback Senior Matthews Breaks Record

Peter Matthews broke an all-time section 9 record with an extra point in the 3rd quarter vs. Washingtonville last Friday evening. Peter, with that kick, scored his 197th point breaking Monroe-Woodbury’s Jaime Boyle’s record.

After the game he thanked his parents, Zoe and Paul Matthews, for all the travel and time they took to take him to instructors. He also thanks his coaches Joe Ryan, Pat TOOLE, Adam Tanalski and Dan Orner for showing him the way. He also wanted to thank Coach Bianco and his staff for giving him these opportunities.

“Above all I want to thank all my teammates because without a good team behind me I would never have had all these opportunities”, Matthews said after the ballgame. He is looking forward to the future and hopes the Goldbacks can win another title this year.
