Plein Air Festival Winners Announced


Wallkill River School announces the 2nd Annual Hudson Valley Plein Air Festival winners. 30 artists traveled from across the country to participate, and compete for prizes against some of our best regional artists. These artists painted in locations across the region from Olana, historic home of plein air artist Frederic Church, to shores of the Hudson River in Newburgh, and many farms, historic sites and open spaces in between. The artists themselves voted for the top award winners in a jury of their peers. Keith Gunderson won Best of Show, 1st Place sponsored by Walden Savings Bank

Winners of the Quick draw (photo provided) include: Chrissy Pahucki (3rd Place), Kari Ganoung-Ruiz (2nd Place), and Shawn Dell Joyce (1st Place). Three are holding their award-winning paintings. Also attached is Best of Show winner Keith Gunderson with Wallkill River School board member Chuck Tudor. In the Children’s Category of the Quick Draw Event, 1st place
winner was Maya Henderson (photo attached), 2nd place was Ben Pahucki, 3rd Place was Areyanna McCarthy, all sponsored by Hamptonburgh Grange, Ms Claire’s Musical Cupboard and the Montgomery Book Exchange.
