“Mr. D” Remembered

“Mr. D” Remembered

William Denette, who passed away Sept. 16 at the age of 89, was remembered at Grace Community Church on Oct. 28 by a crowd of friends, family, and loved ones whose lives he touched especially during his decades of volunteering at Round Hill Elementary School (with an endless supply of lollipops). During the service, which also honored his military history (Denette served in World War II and took his Honor Flight last year), countless people, among them many children, spoke of how much they loved him. Afterwards, a military ceremony took place at Orange County Veterans’ Cemetery where, in this picture, the youngest member of the Troast/VanLeeuwen family, close friends of Denette’s, smiles in memory of him.
