Its Neighbors for Neighbors in Blooming Grove
By Eugenia Moskowitz
Blooming Grove’s Neighbors for Neighbors organization held a luncheon for its volunteers as well as many members of the incoming Blooming Grove town board including new supervisor Rob Jeroloman and board members Charles Quick, Steven Amante, Jason Kramer, and Sonia Ayala on Nov. 16.
Services the organization provides free of charge are: transportation to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, weekly home visits, and clerical assistance, to name but a few. One member said, “We are always looking for volunteers to help our town’s seniors as well as younger people or anyone who needs it. Whatever amount of time people can give is great. If you can only give an hour, then that’s fine too. It’s really a great program.”
Partnered with Jewish Family Service’s Friendly Visitor Program, the Orange County Office of the Aging members, and municipalities such as Blooming Grove, Neighbors for Neighbors accomplishes a wide variety of community services for individuals of all ages.
The luncheon was followed by a meet-and-greet for people interested in joining. To join, please call 845-325-8775, and also go to the Facebook page “Town of Blooming Grove Neighbors for Neighbors.”
