Dec. 1: Brotherhood Winery Tree Lighting. Come see the majestically tall Christmas tree lit with a thousand lights (please call the winery for exact time).
Dec. 2: Washingtonville Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting The iconic parade of illuminated firetrucks starts 6:00 p.m. at Vern Allen Park, goes along Main Street, and ends at Center Square at 7:00 p.m. with the lighting of the village Christmas tree by Santa. Festivities in Center Square prior to parade, see just below.
Dec. 2: Washingtonville Winter Wonderland The center of Washingtonville will be transformed before the parade into the North Pole from 3:00-6:00 p.m., where your family can experience the Holiday Marketplace of handcrafted gifts at the municipal lot across from Betty’s; live family music by The Vibe; meet Mrs. Claus at The Lot and have pictures taken by Lozza Photography; send letters to Santa in a special mailbox; enjoy a craft at Nailed It Hardware; and face painting at Sterling Tattoo. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served.
Dec. 1-2: The Nutcracker dance by NYPAC at Washingtonville High School (Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. and Dec. 2 at 4:00 p.m.). Additional Holiday Showcase on Dec. 2 only, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Dec. 3: Holiday Music Favorites sung and performed by local Washingtonville talent at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church (179 E. Main St.), 3:00 p.m.
Dec. 6: Blooming Grove/Washingtonville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party at the Caldwell House Bed & Breakfast.
Dec. 9: Gingerbread Project Decorate your own gingerbread house (large or small) at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church (179 E. Main St.) to benefit Safe Homes of Orange County at 10:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m., reservations recommended, call 496-3961 to leave a message with name, which time, size of house, and number of attendees.
Dec. 9: South Blooming Grove Tree Lighting at 6:00 p.m. with hot cocoa and treats inside SBG Village Hall.
Dec. 9: Christmas Pageant classically performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Santa will also be there to greet the children.
Dec. 9: Christmas Dinner Party at the Knights of Columbus, 18 Hallock Drive, after 5:30 Mass. Santa will be there. RSVP by Dec. 1 to Council phone 496-3301.
Dec. 10: Breakfast with Santa at Monell Firehouse 7:30-11:30 a.m.
Dec. 17: Breakfast with Santa at Knights of Columbus (with Cub Scout Pack 316) 8:00-noon, 18 Hallock Dr.
