In the early morning hours of Thursday 12/15/2017, New Windsor Police responded for a call from a resident who had arrived home at night and noticed that their exterior motion light had activated and there were recent footprints in the snow around each of the vehicles in their driveway. Officers checked the area and located a fresh set of footprints leading into but not back out of a driveway of another residence in the area. Underneath a vehicle parked in the driveway, a Mr. Michael O’Connor (DOB 08/15/1995) was attempting to hide from officers. Mr. O’Connor was taken into custody on signed charges from previous larcenies from vehicles and was found to be in possession of a large amount of loose change. O’Connor a Cornwall resident is being held pending arraignment.

The New Windsor Police would like to thank the alert resident who noticed suspicious activity in their neighborhood and immediately called to report it. The New Windsor Police would also like to remind all residents that cannot park their vehicles inside a garage, to lock their car doors and keep any valuables inside their homes.
