Washingtonville Passes 2018-19 Budget
By Eugenia Moskowitz
The village of Washingtonville adopted its $5,259,164.93 budget for fiscal year 2018-19 on Jan. 31 at village hall. There will be a 0% tax increase and the tax levy for homeowners per $1,000 of home value also is going down from 46.521801 (last budget) to 45.438791 (this budget), which means most village residents will see a decrease in their tax bill.
Mayor Joe Bucco and board trustees Rich Calore, Diane Mack, and Paul Lang had been working to improve financial record keeping. This year’s budget was a model of business acumen and tight financial management of village taxpayer monies, grants, and line funds.
Copies of the budget are available at village hall or online at the village website. Videos of all village meetings can be found on the website as well.
