Easter Egg Hunt at Recreation Park Sponsored by We Are Newburgh
WE R NEWBURGH along with the city/Newburgh Recreation Department held their Easter Egg Hunt on March 24. Joe Alvarez who does a lot of things for the City/Newburgh kids, along with Maritza Wilson and many volunteers showed up to fill over 9000 Easter eggs during the week. It all paid off on Saturday as a lot of children and their families came out to enjoy the day. Everyone lined up for either a hot dog, cheeseburger, taco and french fries along with ice tea. The people who was in the kitchen did a wonderful job feeding everyone. Joe called the children to the field for knap sack races. There were about ten races. After that there were wheelbarrow races where one walks on his hands and the other person holds his/her feet. This was all leading up to the Egg Hunt. Live music was heard thru out the day. The children from one to five started grabbing the eggs that spelled out WE R NEWBURGH. When they finished the older children races for their eggs. All said it was another Wonderful Day at Rec Park.
