Johnny Poveromo an 18 year old, 2017 Washingtonville High Graduate & former Washingtonville offensive lineman was the overall champion – teenage division – at the New York State sanctioned “Revolution” Powerlifting Competition held at Hofstra University in Hempstead NY on March 17th.
He was crowned the overall champion in the 18/19year old division. Which measured your overall pounds lifted in three separate events (Squat / Dead Lift & Bench Lift disciplines).
Johnny’s performance for an 18 year old was off the charts as his Bench Lift was 315 pounds (NYS Teenage State Record) his Squat was 555 pounds a (NYS State Record for Teenagers) and his winning lift was a Dead Lift of 575 pounds.
Johnny’s overall pounds lifted finished at 1,470 pounds for the competition which catapulted him into first place.
