Washingtonville Swears In Newly Elected Board Members
By Eugenia Moskowitz
At the last Washingtonville village board meeting on Apr. 2, Mayor Joe Bucco announced that the second annual Easter Bonnet Parade and Egg Hunt was a major success (see connected article on p. XX). The Washingtonville Scholarship 5K will be held on Apr. 7 from 10am to finish, normally an hour later. Please observe the road closures as shown on the map below. Finally, the Washingtonville Little League Opening Day Parade will be on Apr. 14. Street closures will be forthcoming, please check the village website and little league website for more information.
The board’s reorganization meeting will take place on Apr. 17 at 7pm.
The continuation of the solar farm public hearing took place as well, with more hearings to come, please check the village website for exact dates. Bucco announced that the high quantity of past lost and unbilled water in the village’s water system under the previous boards is now accounted for and, at $3.50 per 1000 gallons equaling $84,730.71 in funds into the village, these monies as collected will be used for village infrastructure projects. (Please see village hall for detailed facts in a spreadsheet at the front desk.) The next big project will be road repaving in the village, starting as soon as the weather warms. Please see village hall to find out which roads will be the first ones to be paved, and which curbing will also be done. Bucco also announced the new street sweeper should arrive in approximately 90 days.
