Blooming Grove Police and Highway Departments Receive $244,000 Grant From Senator Bill Larkin
Highway Department, Police Department, Town of Blooming Grove officials along with other visitors applauded as Supervisor Rob Jeroloman received a check for $244,000 from Senator Bill Larkin on Friday. June 15.
Dozens of town employees, council members, police and EMS members, residents and visiting officials cheered the grant presentation which will pay for some much needed new equipment. Jeroloman thanked Larkin for “showing him the ropes of government over the past 12 years”, and telling him “If you need something, just ask for it.”
Larkin spoke of the need for hardworking employees to have the equipment they need to do their job, such as the dump truck, plow and all terrain vehicle. He said “Do not thank me for this money, its your money being returned to you for good use.”, and added one of
his favorite sayings, “There is no ‘I’ in TEAM”.
Councilman Chuck Quick described the beginnings of new highway analysis and planning that will go along with the new vehicles and will keep travel more safe and convenient.
