STORM KING ENGINE FAIR
Cornwall’s Storm King Fair, a yearly favorite in the region, was outdone on opening night with storms of a different kind. Rain and threats of severe thunder and lightning doused the first evening with a late afternoon cancellation, but the weather held out pretty well for the remaining week of July with storm threats bouncing around the county’s hills and valleys hit-or-miss. Rockslide Band’s music filled the air along with a fireworks spectacular at the grounds of Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School , sounds and light show extending all the way to western Blooming Grove, while kids and adults enjoyed the rides and food specialties.
