The Week In Review-The Weekend Ahead

Fire Prevention Education Week in Schools

Fire Prevention Education Week in Schools

Washingtonville elementary schools got visits from local fire departments as fire prevention education week got under way. Here, the Washingtonville and Salisbury Mills FDs taught K-2 classes at Taft Elementary about what to do in case of fire, and what firefighters do to rescue people and put out fires. The children got to walk all around the trucks and learn everything about them, as well as taking part in fire prevention, safety, and escape lessons held inside the cafeteria at a special assembly. Sparky the Firedog can be seen in the background. The South Blooming Grove FD visited Round Hill Elementary and the Vails Gate FD visited Little Britain Elementary. Fire departments also visited English Rose Day School and Little Harvard. (Photo by Eugenia Moskowitz)
