The Salisbury Mills Fire Department’s annual open house and fire prevention day was held on Oct. 6. Children learned about fire prevention via educational tools including a walk-through mobile smoke house, fire- and water-rescue demonstrations, and even a seatbelt simulator machine provided by the NY State Police. They also got to walk inside a Blooming Grove ambulance and check out the fire trucks, police cars, and other specialized emergency response vehicles.
