Troop 64 Celebrates Scout Achievements
New Windsor Boy Scout Troop 64 held its Fall Court of Honor this week. The troop celebrated the accomplishments of the scouts over the last few months, including their weeklong stay at the BSA’s Ten Mile River summer camp. The boys earned a total of 91 merit badges, two rank advancements to Life Scout, and a very grueling 1-mile swim achievement. Two special awards were presented to brothers Edward and Vincent Ianuzzi-Sucich. They each received the Dr. Bernard Harris Supernova Award and the Thomas Edison Supernova Award. The Boy Scout Supernova awards recognize superior achievement by a Boy Scout in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). After months of working on the many requirements with a designated mentor and meeting eligibility, the boys were celebrated for their accomplishment.
