The Week In Review-The Weekend Ahead

Washingtonville Glazes Empty Bowls

By Eugenia Moskowitz

The Washingtonville High School National Art Honor Society held its second annual “Glaze Your Own Bowl/Mug” fundraiser for its upcoming Empty Bowls event which in turn funds the Washingtonville Food Pantry.

Food instability is an issue in many local areas, and people within the Washingtonville school district came together for their own families in need on Jan. 5 to glaze bowls and mugs which will then be fired at the high school under ceramics teacher Lara Held and made a part of the school’s fourth annual Empty Bowls fundraising event to take place on Mar. 22.

Always great for kids, teens, adults, and seniors, the event drew residents to the high school’s cafeteria for warmth and enjoyment as well as artistic expression, as seen in the photos here.
