Elks Lodge 247 Holds Breakfast Fundraiser With Newburgh Baseball Star

On  February10 ELKS Lodge 247 on Washington Street in Newburgh,  held a breakfast fundraiser. Attending the question/answer session after the breakfast was Newburgh’s Willie Fraser, Willie grew up in the town of Newburgh and attended Newburgh Free Academy where he played baseball. After graduating he attended Concordia College in Bronxville, New York. He was drafted by Califonia Angels  in their first round. His debut was September 10,1986. Willie also pitched for the Cardinals from 1986-1995. After retiring from baseball he was given a position as a major league scout with the Miami Marlins. Interviewing Willie was Elk Mike Kirtio. Willie stills helps young children out with baseball skills.  After the interview Willie signed baseballs and had pictures taken with the kids.
