NFA’s “Fullerton Crew” Pitches Design Idea for Habitat Walk
Newburgh Free Academy’s “Fullerton Crew” was recruited by two alumni to create a design for their annual Habitat Walk. Mr. Matthew Arbolino, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh and Mr. Gary Chasteen Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, both alumni of Newburgh Free Academy, recruited scholars to create a design for their annual Walk for Housing.
Together with Ms. Caitlin Dalton, the Communication and Marketing Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, the team gave a presentation about their upcoming event and what they were looking for in a design. Students created their designs and the team came back to provide a critique before final designs were due.
The “Fullterton Crew” is part of the Visual Communication and Design Program, specifically VC 3, at NFA Main Campus. The club is a student-centered design firm meeting the needs of design for both school, district, and community. The design that is chosen will be used as the primary design for Habitat for Humanity of Great Newburgh’s 20th Annual Walk for Housing. This year, Habitat is celebrating building their 100th house in 20 years!
This year’s Walk for Housing is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th.
