Spaghetti Home Run!

Spaghetti Home Run!

Home plate or plate of spaghetti? Diners chose both, of course, at the Washingtonville Little League’s third annual pasta dinner held at the Knights of Columbus hall on Hallock Drive on Mar. 22. Family, friends, and community members who craved the carbs came in droves to be served by little league families who dished out the red-sauce rigatoni, fettucini alfredo, and a garlic-and-oil spaghetti with garlic knots, Italian bread, and salad, followed by an ice-cream bar. Guests were happy to fill their bellies and support the WLL at the same time, as this was one of the major fundraisers for the little league’s season.

Also available were WLL apparel in ladies, gents, and youth sizes and styles, league car magnets, wooden wall plaques, baseballs emblazoned with the WLL logo, and last season’s 60th anniversary lamppost banners for sponsors to take home. And WLL president Scott Davy personally welcomed all guests to the massive feast while the adults and kids had a ball.

WLL’s Opening Day Parade from the high school to Mays Field, and the league’s first games of the season, will be held on Apr. 13. Everyone is welcome to attend — just bring your peanuts and Cracker Jacks!
