The Week In Review-The Weekend Ahead

22nd Honor Flight Brings Joy And Memories to Vets

22nd Honor Flight, Not Dampened by A Rainy Saturday

Hundreds of well-wishers came out at 6 am with their flags and smiles, and an arm to lean on for some at the New York Stewart International Airport  last weekend.  They came to give these veterans on their way to the 22nd Honor Flight to Washington DC . a good sendoff.

It was a really good sendoff for these veterans, some of which had returned from from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and Desert Storm.

Despite drizzle, and then rain, and more drizzle, there was a mixture of extreme pride alternating with a party atmosphere.

Newburgh’s famous barber, 108-year-old Anthony Mancinelli was among those who made the exciting and memorable trip, and came home with a whole new set of stories to tell.
