Village Shuttle Bus to KJ Still Stuck in Court
By Edie Johnson
The Village of South Blooming Grove’s conflict over a shuttle bus that went back and forth to Kiryas Joel on a temporary permit went to the Orange County Supreme Court this Wednesday. Villagers have claimed that the shuttle company violated numerous conditions stated in the permit, and are angry that despite having received a “stop work” order, it continues to run its shuttle, and has refused to transport some villagers. At yesterday’s hearing under Hon. Judge Elaine Slobad, Village Mayor, Jim Lo Franco reportedly spoke for hours about the issues at hand. A large number of Hasidic residents were present, as well as other villagers, totaling about 40 local residents in the viewing audience.
The hearing ended with no final decision and will be continued at the Orange County Courthouse next Monday.
