THE GREAT WASHINGTONVILLE GIRL SCOUT BAKE-OFF
By Carla Hosein
On Sunday, May 19, 2019 Junior Girl Scout Troop 503 hosted the first ever Great Washingtonville Girl Scout Bake-Off. And the results were delicious! Girls of all ages participated by submitting group or individual entries prepared entirely by the girl(s) themselves. Their skills and creativity were a treat to behold. A total of forty girls participated in the event. Three judges, Mayor Joe Bucco, Paul Davis, and Kevin Raddy, were given the scrumptious task of sampling each entry and deciding on the winners for each category. First place winners were Daisy Troop 762 with No Bake Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Energy Bites, Brownie Abigail Baisley from Troop 327 with Linzer Tart Cookies, Juniors Madison Bruno, Anna Richland, and Cheyenne Sampson from Troop 294 with Sugar Surprise Cake, and Senior Sophia Galgano from Troop 544 with Irish Soda Bread. Troop 503 would like to thank all those who participated. A special thank you is also sent to the Knights of Columbus for providing space for the event.
