At New Windsor’s Purple Heart Hall of Honor

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul paid a visit to New Windsor’s Purple Heart Hall of Honor on Thursday, June 6 to commemorate the occasion of the 75th Anniversary the Allied Forces invasion of Normandy commonly referred to as D-day.  in Nazi-occupied France. The invasion did not end World War II, but was crucial to ending the Nazi war machine.

At the Hall Hochul saluted heroes who are Purple Heart recipients and other Hudson Valley area veterans

Hochul also led tours through the National Hall of Honor’s Museum which is slated to undergo a $10 million expansion in 2020 as a result of state funding secured by former Senator William Larkin and Governor Andrew Cuomo.  The major renovations will include development of a new wing with interactive exhibits and enhanced galleries, improved pedestrian circulation and additional public gathering space.
