Four Town of Newburgh Scouts Pinned as Eagle Scout Status

Cronomer Valley Fire Department Social Hall Troop 27 held a Eagle Scout Ceremo on Friday July 19. Four Scouts achieved the Eagle Scout status. Andrew McDonald, Ian E Poveda, Gabriel B Rosario, and Ryan Segali. The colors were presented by members of Troop 27. The Invocation given by Deacon Peter Haight, who was himself an Eagle Scout in the class of 56. The candles were then lit to begin the ceremony. Kevin Hovencamp explained the journey that each scout took and how it all worked out. Camping in the rain/snow together, camp fires talks. He also credited the parents for their dedication to each scout. Representing James Skoufis was Orange County Legislature Mike Anagnostakis. He gave the four Eagle Scouts each a Letter of Acheivement from State Senator Skoufis and thanked the Veterans and parents in the room. Orange County Sheriff Carl Dubois could not attend, but the Deputy Sheriff presented Certificated to the Eagle Scouts followed by a salute. Town of Newburgh Town Board members presented plaques to each and thanked them for the projects they achieved throughout their scout years.  (Photos by Bob McCormick)
