Person Rescued After Falling 40 Ft. To CSX Railroad Tracks

Middle Hope FD was dispatched to assist Town Newburgh EMS/Police with fall victim at 12 Chelsea View Terrace on July 31. Police and EMS arrived at the scene where a person had fallen forty feet down an embankment towards railroad tracks. Dispatchers from the Police called CSX train officials and advised them to stop trains on the West side of the Hudson. Firefighters, EMS, and Police went to the base along Commonwealth Ave and drove along the tracks north to reach the injured person. He was then transported by by a  Middlehope Fire Department utility truck to Commonwealth, then transferred to Town of Newburgh EMS and finally  transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital.   There is no word yet on his condition.
