The Week In Review-The Weekend Ahead

A Kodachrome Moment

A Kodachrome Moment

The Blooming Grove/Washingtonville Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Color Run took place on Sept. 21 at Vern Allen Park, where people who started out in pristine white commemorative t-shirts ended up covered in colored cornstarch powder at the culmination of the 5K run/jog/walk.

After a pre-race warmup by Gami Penaherrera, the crowd gathered at the start line and took off. Getting blasted with color was part of passing through each station along the route, resulting in technicolor people as they passed the finish line to get a final dousing by Chamber members armed with restaurant-style squirt-bottles. Picking up their own color packets, they then gathered in the center of Vern Allen Park for a final tossing of color up into the sky.
