Rafting On The Delaware River
On Saturday September 21, 2019 the Washingtonville JROTC Magic Battalion conducted their annual trip down the Delaware River. The cadets were assigned at random into rafts with five or six cadets per raft. The cadets started their voyage down the river with positivity and an eagerness to enjoy a team building experience. About half way down the rivers the cadets took a break to talk, rest, and have a little fun. When it was time to keep going, the cadets started to realize that it’s not about the destination but the adventure along the way. The cadets got to know each other better than before the trip, and developed their teamwork and leadership skills. Cadet First Sergeant Edward Honan said, “the scenery and the sights were beautiful, and the leadership was good.” The trip was a great way for the Magic Battalion to bond and started us off to a great year of activities.
