Planning Board Chairman Ralph Maffei Recognized As He Retires
Blooming Grove officials gathered at Town Hall last Friday and where they held a luncheon to honor the incredible 42 years of service that resident Ralph Maffei has given the town. He worked in numerous capacities, most notably as Planning Board Chairman, through numerous administrations and a host of town issues and projects , researching every aspect and opinion on developments and the impacts they could potentially have on neighbors, the Schunnemunk Ridge view, the town’s aquifer and many other environmental assets while still supporting smart commercial growth.
Maffei stepped down as Chair about a year ago, but he remained on the board to guide new members. Johanna Kiernan, who is a former town Deputy Supervisor and has been very active in various environmental groups and in gain grants to benefit town projects, will take the vacant Planning Board seat.
