Tree-Trimming for Whoville and Parade
By Eugenia Moskowitz
The potted pine trees lining Veterans Park got a dose of tinseltown on Nov. 23 as children from Girl Scout Troop 327 and others decorated the greenery for the upcoming annual Whoville and Christmas Parade on Dec. 7. Whoville starts at 3:00 at Veterans Park (across from Betty’s), and the Christmas Parade, also known for its decorated firetrucks and other vehicles, kicks off at 6:00 from Vern Allen Park, rolling down Main Street and culminating in the annual Tree Lighting by Santa in center square at 7:00. In addition, the Moffat Library will be hosting its Open House during the daytime celebration, and the community room will be open during the parade for those who may wish to come in out of the cold.
