Blooming Grove Alerts Residents Of Fire Training Exercises
Last year the Town of Blooming Grove bought property adjacent to its Highway Department on Route 94. Designs have been under way and are currently near completion for a new Maintenance Garage, but in the interim they decided to allow local Fire Departments to use a large structure on the newly acquired adjacent property for training. There will likely be times when there are trucks coming in and out of that entrance drive for drills, but during the training, Highway Superintendent Wayne Kirkpatrick said, there will be no foam used whatsoever, nor will there be any actual fire, but possibly a smoke machine in lieu of real smoke. Activity will be limited to interior search. The building is however already considerable disrepair and the structure will be demolished and grounds leveled when they are done with the training exercises.
